Effect of the fibre length on the mechanical anisotropy of glass fibre-reinforced polymer composites printed by Multi Jet Fusion

Xiaojiang Liu et al.

Summary: This study systematically investigates the effect of fibre length on the mechanical performance of MJF-printed GF/PA12 composites, showing that longer fibres promote fibre alignment but also increase porosity in the composite parts. When GFs with an average length of 226 pm are added, the ultimate tensile strength and tensile modulus of the composites are significantly improved in the powder bed spreading direction.

Comparative study on 3D printing of polyamide 12 by selective laser sintering and multi jet fusion

Chao Cai et al.

Summary: A systematic comparison of polyamide 12 (PA12) parts printed by Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) and Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) techniques revealed that MJF-printed specimens had slightly stronger mechanical strength and smoother front and side surfaces than SLS-printed counterparts.

A detailed evaluation of surface, thermal, and flammable properties of polyamide 12/glass beads composites fabricated by multi jet fusion

Binbin Guo et al.

Summary: PA12/glass beads composites manufactured via the MJF technique exhibit improved performance, including enhanced dimensional accuracy, lower surface roughness, higher surface hardness, increased decomposition temperature, and char yield compared to neat PA12. However, the flame retardance of the composite remains unchanged. The incorporation of glass beads effectively regulates the dimensional accuracy and improves the overall performance of the composite material.

An Experimental Study on Mechanical, Thermal and Flame-Retardant Properties of 3D-Printed Glass-Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Composites

Ashish R. Prajapati et al.

Summary: This study investigates the mechanical, thermal, and flame-retardant properties of fiber-reinforced polymer composites manufactured using the FDM process. Different types of fiber reinforcements are utilized to enhance the properties of the polymer matrix, and various tests are conducted to assess the performance of the composites.
