Adsorption of congo red using carbon from leaves and stem of water hyacinth: equilibrium, kinetics, thermodynamic studies

Removal of As(III) and As(V) from aqueous solution using engineered biochar: batch and fixed-bed column study

Summary: Magnetic biochar materials were developed using waste dry leaves of Tectona species and Lagerstroemia speciosa. The synthesized magnetic biochar showed high adsorption efficiency for As(III) and As(V) from aqueous solution and groundwater. The biochar was characterized using various techniques, and the adsorption process followed Langmuir isotherm and pseudo-second-order kinetic. The study demonstrated the potential of magnetic biochar for low-cost filter development to remove arsenic from contaminated areas.

Biosorptive and Biodegradative Mechanistic Approach for the Decolorization of Congo Red Dye by Aspergillus Species
