Effects of biochar and TUAT-1 bio-inoculant on grain yield and nitrogen efficiency of forage rice 'Monster rice 1' under different N application modes

Khin Thuzar Win et al.

Summary: The application of bio-inoculant and biochar can positively impact crop growth and soil fertility, with effects varying depending on the mode of nitrogen fertilization. When used with basal nitrogen fertilization, biochar and bio-inoculant can increase microbial biomass carbon and nitrogen levels. Additionally, biochar can decrease the NO3--N concentration in surface floodwater.

Seed coating by biofertilizer containing spores of Bacillus pumilus TUAT1 strain enhanced initial growth of Oryza sativa L.

Shin-ichiro Agake et al.

Summary: This study found that the use of the biofertilizer Kikuichi containing Bacillus pumilus TUAT1 spores, combined with coating materials such as iron and molybdenum, can promote rice growth in a direct-seeding system. The optimal timing for application is before sprouting, and the amount applied affects the growth outcome. Double coating with Benmoly has a positive effect on rice growth.

Effects of different types of slow- and controlled-release fertilizers on rice yield

Wu Qiong et al.

Summary: The experiment investigated the effects of seven types of slow- and controlled-release fertilizers on rice yield and various population characteristics. Results showed that the nitrogen release characteristics of different fertilizers significantly varied, with polymer-coated urea (PCU) providing sustained and controlled release throughout all growth stages, and sulfur-coated urea (SCU) leading to a reduction in rice yield due to insufficient release at later stages.

Rhizosphere Engineering With Plant Growth-Promoting Microorganisms for Agriculture and Ecological Sustainability

Sughra Hakim et al.

Summary: The rhizosphere is a complex microhabitat comprised of plant roots, soil, and a diverse consortium of microorganisms. The conditions in the rhizosphere directly impact crop growth and yield. Plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) play a key role in improving soil health and supporting plant growth, both under normal and stressed environments.
