Effect of Lactylate and Bacillus subtilis on Growth Performance, Peripheral Blood Cell Profile, and Gut Microbiota of Nursery Pigs

Xiaofan Wang et al.

Summary: Dietary lactylate tended to increase weight gain, significantly increased feed intake, and reduced fecal E. coli counts in weaning pigs during Phase 1. Bacillus subtilis supplementation improved the gain to feed ratio in Phases 1 and 2 and enriched certain microbiota that had positive relationships with feed efficiency. The combination of lactylate and Bacillus subtilis strains exhibited a synergic effect on the growth performance of weaning pigs.

Effect of BioPlus YC Probiotic Supplementation on Gut Microbiota, Production Performance, Carcass and Meat Quality of Pigs

Artur Rybarczyk et al.

Summary: The use of BioPlus YC probiotic preparation containing specific Bacillus strains improved the health and growth performance of fatteners by increasing the count of beneficial bacteria and decreasing the count of harmful bacteria in the gut microbiota. Supplementing with BioPlus YC probiotic resulted in positive effects on production traits of pigs, mainly reducing mortality, improving feed conversion ratio, increasing average daily gain, and shortening fattening period when compared to the control group.
