Case Report: Unusual High-Grade Diffuse Leptomeningeal Glioneuronal Tumor Mimicking Tuberculous Meningitis in a Child From an Endemic Region

Yong Guang Teh et al.

Summary: Diffuse leptomeningeal glioneuronal tumor is a mild tumor that mainly affects young boys, but high-grade cases are uncommon in children. Diagnosing the high-grade variant in a tuberculosis-endemic region is challenging due to the importance of identifying non-typical imaging findings like non-enhancing cystic lesions. This report provides the first clinical imaging report of utilizing MR spectroscopy to distinguish DL-GNT from tuberculosis with histopathologic correlation.

Parvaneh Karimzadeh et al.

Summary: This study reported the first case of pediatric DLGNT in Iran and proposed an effective treatment strategy. Although the patient remained stable without tumor recurrence for a limited follow-up period of 22 months, further research is needed to validate the findings.

Diffuse leptomeningeal glioneuronal tumour (DLGNT) in children: the emerging role of genomic analysis

Neevika Manoharan et al.

Summary: Diffuse leptomeningeal glioneuronal tumours (DLGNT) are rare CNS tumors of childhood with variable clinical courses, radiological hallmark of widespread leptomeningeal enhancement, and potential driver of tumorigenesis through MAPK/ERK signaling pathway. Comprehensive genomic sequencing has shown that DLGNT may be more genomically complex than single-event MAPK/ERK signaling pathway tumors.

Diffuse leptomeningeal glioneuronal tumour: where to biopsy? Case report and literature review

Summary: DLGT is a rare entity that requires biopsy for diagnosis, but the optimal biopsy site remains unclear. Our experience suggests that PET-CT and intraoperative biopsy analysis may improve the efficacy of obtaining a representative sample.
