Pan-Immune-Inflammation Value: A New Prognostic Index in Operative Breast Cancer

Fei Lin et al.

Summary: A simple scoring system based on immune and inflammatory parameters has been established and validated to predict postoperative survival in patients with operable breast cancer. The system, utilizing the pan-immune-inflammation value (PIV), is able to predict survival outcomes by evaluating several independent prognostic parameters. This scoring model shows promising accuracy and can assist clinicians in implementing tailored treatment strategies for breast cancer patients.

Prognostic significance of pre-treatment neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in patients with oropharyngeal cancer treated with radiotherapy

Sweet Ping Ng et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the prognostic value of pre-treatment neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in patients with oropharyngeal cancer. It found that patients with lower NLR had more favorable overall survival and disease control outcomes, regardless of HPV status.

A randomized phase III trial comparing adjuvant single-agent S1, S-1 with oxaliplatin, and postoperative chemoradiation with S-1 and oxaliplatin in patients with node-positive gastric cancer after D2 resection: the ARTIST 2 trial

S. H. Park et al.

Summary: The study compared three adjuvant treatment regimens for gastric cancer patients and found that adjuvant SOX or SOXRT was effective in prolonging disease-free survival (DFS) compared to S-1 monotherapy. However, there was no significant difference in DFS between SOX and SOXRT, and adverse events were manageable in each treatment arm.

Dynamic Changes in the Systemic Inflammation Response Index Predict the Outcome of Resectable Gastric Cancer Patients

Zhenhua Liu et al.

Summary: The systemic inflammation response index (SIRI) is a reliable indicator for evaluating the prognosis of patients with operable gastric cancer. The dynamic change in SIRI before and after surgery is significantly related to the prognosis of patients with gastric cancer.

The Pan-Immune-Inflammation-Value Predicts the Survival of Patients with Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER2)-Positive Advanced Breast Cancer Treated with First-Line Taxane-Trastuzumab-Pertuzumab

Francesca Ligorio et al.

Summary: The Pan-Immune-Inflammatory Value (PIV) in peripheral blood may serve as a new and powerful predictor of overall survival in HER2+ advanced breast cancer patients treated with first-line trastuzumab-pertuzumab-containing biochemotherapy, potentially improving prognostic stratification in this patient population.

Identification of Patients With Locally Advanced Gastric Cancer Who May Benefit From Adjuvant Chemoradiotherapy After D2 dissection: A Propensity Score Matching Analysis

Shu-Bei Wang et al.

Summary: The study revealed that adjuvant CRT significantly reduced the risk of local regional recurrence after D2 dissection of LAGC, particularly for N1-3a stage patients. However, there was no significant difference in three-year disease-free survival between the CRT and CT groups. In particular, for N3b stage patients, CRT did not reduce the risk of local regional recurrence.
