Precise Thermoplastic Processing of Graphene Oxide Layered Solid by Polymer Intercalation

Zeshen Li et al.

Summary: In this study, a precise thermoplastic forming method for graphene materials is presented by polymer intercalation. The thermoplasticity of graphene oxide (GO) solids is achieved by the thermal activation of polymer chains. The plastic-formed structures retain their integrity and exhibit excellent electrical and thermal conductivity. This thermoplastic strategy greatly expands the forming capability of graphene materials and promises versatile structural designs for a variety of applications.

Perovskite enables high performance vanadium redox flow battery

Yingqiao Jiang et al.

Summary: Perovskites, such as LaBO3 (B = V, Cr, Mn), demonstrate superior electrochemical kinetics in vanadium redox flow batteries (VRFBs) due to their activity towards vanadium redox reactions. The catalysis is attributed to the active B-O bindings and perovskite structure, promoting the adsorption of vanadium ions. Perovskites also provide more active sites for the redox reactions, resulting in a boosted electron exchange and higher energy efficiency in the VRFBs.

Enhanced Performance of Zn/Br Flow Battery Using N-Methyl-N-Propylmorpholinium Bromide as Complexing Agent

Uxua Jimenez-Blasco et al.

Summary: Redox flow batteries (RFB) are an intriguing technology for energy storage, offering the separation of power and capacity. Zinc-bromine flow batteries (ZBFB) are hybrid RFBs where the capacity is determined by the negative electrode's effective area, where metallic zinc is deposited during charging. Gaseous bromine is produced at the positive electrode during charging, emphasizing the necessity of bromine complexing agents (BCA).
