Prospective analysis of pain expectancy and experience during MR-fusion prostate biopsy: does reality match patients' expectancy?

Philipp Krausewitz et al.

Summary: This study investigated pain levels during MR-TB in 108 men with suspected prostate cancer. The results showed low overall pain levels, but significant correlations with anxiety, stress, and pain expectancy. Expectation and actual pain levels during sampling procedures differed significantly, with prostate volume and expected pain during rectal manipulation being independent predictors of increased pain.

The main sources of circulating cell-free DNA: Apoptosis, necrosis and active secretion

Zijian Hu et al.

Summary: Cell-free DNA (cfDNA) is an emerging biomarker with huge potential for clinical application, especially in liquid biopsy field. Understanding the biological knowledge of cfDNA is beneficial for catalyzing the transformation process.

Natural history of widespread high grade prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia and atypical small acinar proliferation: should we rebiopsy them all?

Marco Oderda et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the premalignant potential of HGPIN and ASAP, finding that ASAP and HGPIN + ASAP were significantly associated with PCa development. Rebiopsy is advised shortly after ASAP diagnosis, but m/wHGPIN do not need routine rebiopsy.

EAU-EANM-ESTRO-ESUR-SIOG Guidelines on Prostate Cancer-2020 Update. Part 1: Screening, Diagnosis, and Local Treatment with Curative Intent

Nicolas Mottet et al.

Summary: The 2020 EAU-EANM-ESTRO-ESUR-SIOG guidelines on screening, diagnosis, and treatment of localized prostate cancer summarize the most recent recommendations for clinical practice, including risk-adapted strategies, medical imaging utilization, biopsy techniques, patient classification, and treatment options. Recommendations include consideration of moderate hypofractionation for intermediate-risk patients and a combination of local treatment with long-term hormonal therapy for cN1 PCa patients.

Cancer Epigenetic Biomarkers in Liquid Biopsy for High Incidence Malignancies

Cora Palanca-Ballester et al.

Summary: In addition to genetic changes, cancer is also characterized by epigenetic alterations that can be used for diagnosis, prognosis, and predicting drug response. These changes can be detected in early stages of cancer and through liquid biopsies, offering valuable information for personalized treatment. Validation and standardization of epigenetic biomarkers are needed for their successful transfer from research to clinical practice.

Analysis of the Prognostic Value and Gene Expression Mechanism of SHOX2 in Lung Adenocarcinoma

Nanhong Li et al.

Summary: SHOX2 is highly expressed in various cancers, and its overexpression or hypomethylation in the gene body indicates poor differentiation and prognosis in LUAD. SHOX2 may be involved in important cancer-related signaling pathways, such as PI3K-Akt, to promote tumorigenesis.
