Stanniocalcin 1 promotes metastasis, lipid metabolism and cisplatin chemoresistance via the FOXC2/ITGB6 signaling axis in ovarian cancer

Feikai Lin et al.

Summary: This study found that STC1 is significantly enhanced in ovarian cancer tissues, especially in peritoneal metastasis tissues. STC1 promotes metastasis, lipid metabolism, and cisplatin chemoresistance in ovarian cancer through the FOXC2/ITGB6 signaling pathway. Therefore, STC1 may serve as a prognostic indicator for metastatic ovarian cancer and a potential therapeutic target for patients with cisplatin resistance.

Oncogenic functions of the FOXC2 transcription factor: a hallmarks of cancer perspective

Kristian M. Hargadon et al.

Summary: Epigenetic regulation of gene expression plays a crucial role in molecular and cellular function, and it has been found that epigenetic reprogramming is closely associated with the development of cancer. This review focuses on discussing the oncogenic functions of FOXC2, a transcription factor that is frequently dysregulated in various types of cancer. The mechanisms of FOXC2 dysregulation in tumor and tumor-associated cells are explored, with emphasis on how FOXC2 promotes cancer progression. Furthermore, important issues related to the oncogenic dysregulation of FOXC2 are highlighted, aiming to improve our understanding of FOXC2-mediated cancer progression and its clinical applications in prognosis and therapy.

Yingying Sun et al.

Summary: This study found that the expressions of NCAPH, AGGF1, and FOXC2 were significantly increased in SOC patients, positively correlated with tumor malignancy, FIGO stage, lymph node metastasis, and intra-peritoneal implantation, and negatively correlated with overall survival. Multivariate analysis showed that they were independent adverse prognostic factors for SOC patients.

FOXC2 controls adult lymphatic endothelial specialization, function, and gut lymphatic barrier preventing multiorgan failure

Alejandra Gonzalez-Loyola et al.

Summary: Inactivation of Foxc2 in adult lymphatic endothelium leads to a stepwise intestine-to-lung systemic failure, compromising gut epithelial barrier and promoting dysbiosis. The loss of Foxc2 skewed the specialization of lymphatic endothelial subsets, resulting in populations with mixed identities and emergence of lymph node-like endothelial cells.
