Functionally, pOC-ABs promoted endothelial progenitor cell differentiation and endothelial cell formation, while mOC-ABs induced osteogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells and facilitated osteogenesis via RANKL reverse signaling, highlighting the important biological roles of ABs in coupling bone formation with resorption during bone remodeling.

Opportunistic Screening Using Low-Dose CT and the Prevalence of Osteoporosis in China: A Nationwide, Multicenter Study

Further cohort studies are needed to evaluate the clinical utility of such screening in terms of fracture prevention and national health economic analyses.
