Immunomodulatory effects of fish peptides on cardiometabolic syndrome associated risk factors: A review

Soheila Abachi et al.

Summary: Marine-derived biopeptides, including fish-derived peptides, have various health benefits such as anti-oxidation and anti-infection. They can also modulate the immune system, preventing and treating conditions like metabolic syndrome. Fish-derived peptides have been found to have immuno-potentiating effects on inflammation and related diseases. The cytokines and chemokines in fish biopeptides play important roles in both inflammatory ailments and metabolic syndrome.

Isolation, identification, molecular docking analysis, and cytoprotection of seven novel angiotensin I-converting enzyme inhibitory peptides from miiuy croaker byproducts-swim bladders

Wang-Yu Zhu et al.

Summary: In this study, swim bladder hydrolysate with the highest ACEi activity was prepared from miiuy croaker using an in vitro gastrointestinal digestion method. Seven novel ACEi peptides were isolated from the hydrolysate, with SHGEY and SPYGF showing remarkable ACEi activity. Molecular docking experiments revealed that the ACEi activity of SHGEY and SPYGF was mainly attributed to their effective interaction with the ACEi active sites through hydrophobic interaction, electrostatic force, and hydrogen bonding. Moreover, SHGEY and SPYGF promoted NO production and decreased ET-1 secretion in HUVECs, and protected HUVECs from H2O2 damage.
