Boosted microwave dissipation performance via integration of magneto/dielectric particles with hierarchical 3D morphology in bilayer absorber

Mojtaba Jafarian et al.

Summary: In this study, an X-band bilayer absorber was designed using magnetic and dielectric particles with unique 3D morphology. By optimizing the particle configuration and layer thickness, the absorber showed an effective absorption bandwidth of 3.2 and a loading percentage as low as 20%. The improvement in microwave dissipation performance can be attributed to factors such as defect-induced dipole polarization, multiple scatterings and reflections between particles and pores, coupling interactions between layers, and promotion of interfacial polarization.

Structural, magnetic, and gigahertz-range electromagnetic wave absorption properties of bulk Ni-Zn ferrite

M. Derakhshani et al.

Summary: Nickel-zinc ferrite powders were prepared through conventional solid-state route and sintered at 1100 and 1300 degrees C for electromagnetic wave absorption. The samples sintered at 1300 degrees C showed high magnetic saturation and low coercivity, leading to high reflection losses at certain frequencies in the 3D contour plot. The microwave absorption performance was attributed to dielectric and magnetic loss mechanisms, with magnetic part prevailing.
