Retrieval of the molecular orientation distribution from atom-pair angular distributions

Yanwei Xiong et al.

Summary: Imaging laser-induced rotational dynamics is an important and active field with applications in molecular reactions and imaging. This study presents a general theory that maps the molecular orientation probability density distribution to the atom-pair angular distributions for nonlinear molecules. The retrieved molecular orientation distribution is in good agreement with numerical simulations, and the retrieval method is applicable to any alignment method and asymmetric top molecules.

Determination of excited state molecular structures from time-resolved gas-phase X-ray scattering

Haiwang Yong et al.

Summary: The study presents a method for determining transient structures of molecules in excited electronic states with sub-angstrom resolution from time-resolved gas-phase scattering signals. The method has been validated using experimental data, demonstrating independence and accuracy.
