Investigation of novel sorafenib tosylate loaded biomaterial based nano-cochleates dispersion system for treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma

Raj J. Ahiwale et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that nano-cochleates can significantly improve the oral bioavailability and therapeutic efficacy of ST with low toxicity. The optimized STNCs show high entrapment efficiency and suitable particle size and zeta potential, resulting in a 2.18 fold improvement in oral bioavailability compared to ST alone, as well as significant reductions in half-life and mean residence time. This novel technology has promising potential for enhancing the administration of ST in clinical settings.

Azeem Ullah et al.

Summary: Blumea balsamifera oil loaded cellulose acetate nanofiber mats were prepared by electrospinning. The inclusion of blumea oil increased the nanofiber diameter, decreased tensile strength, and reduced porosity. The mats showed antibacterial and antioxidant efficacy, as well as positive impact on cell viability.

Invasomes: Potential vesicular systems for transdermal delivery of drug molecules

Shweta Jain et al.

Summary: Vesicular drug delivery systems, such as invasomes, have the potential to improve therapeutic efficacy by targeting drugs at a predetermined rate. While invasomes have been explored extensively for transdermal drug delivery, literature on them is relatively scarce. Key components like ethanol, terpenes, and phospholipids play a crucial role in influencing the physicochemical properties of invasomes, but their stability remains a limiting factor.

Efficacy of topical risedronate and risedronate-Eudragit E complex in a model of cutaneous leishmaniasis induced by Leishmania (Leishmania) amazonensis

Ma. Florencia Peralta et al.

Summary: Topical application of risedronate and EuE-Ris complexes demonstrates promising efficacy in treating cutaneous leishmaniasis, showing reduction in ulcer size, promotion of healing, and significant parasitic inhibition of 69.5% to 73.7%, with a potential trend towards cure. Further enhancements of the system are needed for complete parasite elimination.
