Risk Analysis of One-Way Road Tunnel Tube Used for Bi-Directional Traffic under Fire Scenarios

Ciro Caliendo et al.

Summary: The study established a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) model to evaluate the risk level of using one-way road tunnel for bi-directional traffic, showing that nighttime bi-directional traffic is more favorable for user evacuation in terms of environmental conditions. The quantitative risk analysis concluded that the risk level during nighttime traffic is reduced by 80% to 100% compared to daytime traffic.
