Dual-polarization two-dimensional valley photonic crystals

Xin-Tao He et al.

Summary: The recent realization of valley physics in photonic systems has enriched the topological phases of light and shown applications in designing high-performance photonic devices. By simultaneously opening two frequency accidental degenerate Dirac cones, we propose dual-polarization two-dimensional valley photonic crystals and demonstrate the flexible control of light and applications in polarization multiplexing photonic devices.

Subwavelength silicon photonics for on-chip mode-manipulation

Chenlei Li et al.

Summary: On-chip mode-manipulation is a critical aspect for photonic integrated devices and circuits, with subwavelength silicon photonics making great progress in this area. Two popular waveguide structures for on-chip mode-manipulation are silicon hybrid plasmonic waveguides (HPWGs) and silicon subwavelength-structured waveguides (SSWGs). This paper focuses on subwavelength silicon photonic devices and applications, including manipulation of effective indices, modal field profiles, mode dispersion, and birefringence.
