Sputtered WOx thin film as the electron transport layer for efficient perovskite solar cells

Samiya Mahjabin et al.

Summary: This study prepares tungsten oxide (WOx) as the electron transport layer (ETL) for perovskite solar cells (PSCs) using an industrially viable RF magnetron sputtering technique. The high-quality WOx thin-film is ensured through necessary morphological and optoelectronic investigations. The optimized planar PSC achieves improved J(SC) and energy conversion efficiency, and the proposed PSC design embedded with Ag nanoparticles further enhances J(SC).

Spray Pyrolyzed TiO2 Embedded Multi-Layer Front Contact Design for High-Efficiency Perovskite Solar Cells

Md. Shahiduzzaman et al.

Summary: An industrially viable bottom-up spray pyrolysis deposition technique was used to prepare a highly compact TiO2 film for the multi-layer front contact optimization in perovskite solar cells. The study presents reproducible and efficient perovskite solar cells with a multi-layer front contact design, and investigates the optics and electrical effects of the cells through optical coupled 3D electromagnetic simulations. The investigation also designs an optimized single-junction perovskite solar cell that can increase the energy conversion efficiency by more than 30% compared to a planar reference cell, and progresses to the realization of all-perovskite tandem solar cells with an energy conversion efficiency exceeding 30%.

Effects of oxygen concentration variation on the structural and optical properties of reactive sputtered WOx thin film

Samiya Mahjabin et al.

Summary: The study investigates the influence of oxygen concentration on the structural and optical properties of WOx films, prepared by reactive sputtering at varying oxygen concentrations. The films' thickness and surface roughness were found to be dependent on oxygen concentration, impacting their optical parameters. The optimized WOx film shows potential as an efficient electron transport layer for perovskite solar cells, achieving high quantum efficiency and short-circuit current density.
