Identification of mcr-1- positive multidrug-resistant Escherichia coli isolates from clinical samples in Shanghai, China

Jing Xie et al.

Summary: This study investigated the epidemiological and genomic characteristics of mcr-1 in Escherichia coli strains from patients in Shanghai. Results showed that mcr-1 was prevalent in clinical samples, especially in children aged < 7 years, and most of the strains carrying mcr-1 were multidrug-resistant.

BacWGSTdb 2.0: a one-stop repository for bacterial whole-genome sequence typing and source tracking

Ye Feng et al.

Summary: BacWGSTdb 2.0 is a free database for bacterial whole-genome sequence typing and source tracking, with new features such as core genome multi-locus sequence typing, multiple genome analysis module, and source tracking module. It has increased the number of species encompassed from 9 to 20, providing a user-friendly interface and visualization tools. This updated version continues to offer a one-stop solution for bacterial genome sequence analysis to users including epidemiologists, clinicians, and bench scientists.

Genomic characterisation of a multidrug-resistant Escherichia coli strain carrying the mcr-1 gene recovered from a paediatric patient in China

Meina Yue et al.

Summary: This study presents the complete genome sequence of a multidrug-resistant Escherichia coli strain carrying the mcr-1 gene isolated from a Chinese pediatric patient. The data may contribute to understanding antimicrobial resistance mechanisms and genomic features, emphasizing the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance in children.

Genome-wide genetic marker analysis and genotyping of Escherichia fergusonii strain OTSVEF-60

Otun Saha et al.

Summary: This study reported the complete genome analysis of poultry originated Escherichia fergusonii (POEF) strain OTSVEF-60 from Bangladesh, revealing multiple antibiotic resistance genes, metal resistance genes, virulence genes, and metabolic functional genes in the genome, which may be associated with pathogenesis and treatment failure against this emerging avian pathogen.
