Nitrogen-limited cultivation of locally isolated Desmodesmus sp. for sequestration of CO2 from simulated cement flue gas and generation of feedstock for biofuel production

Summary: The study found that Desmodesmus sp. can efficiently sequester CO2 in nitrogen-limited media and produce biomass rich in carbohydrates. While the increase in lipid content was not as significant under nitrogen limitation, the biodiesel properties of microalgal lipids met the ASTM D6751-12 standard.
