An Evaluation of Replacing Fish Meal with Fermented Soybean Meal in Diet of Hybrid Snakehead (Channa argus x Channa maculata): Growth, Nutrient Utilization, Serum Biochemical Indices, Intestinal Histology, and Microbial Community

Zhipeng Duan et al.

Summary: The present study investigated the replacement of fish meal with fermented soybean meal on hybrid snakehead. The results showed that in a diet containing 350 g/kg fish meal, fermented soybean meal successfully replaced 50 g/kg fish meal without negative effects on the growth performance, nutrient utilization, serum biochemical indices, and intestinal health of hybrid snakehead.

Summary: This study evaluated the physiological performance and gene expression of domesticated spotted sea bass exposed to different temperatures. The results showed that the gills of the sea bass experienced pathological changes during cold stress, and there were changes in liver enzymatic activity and gene transcription levels. Lipids played a significant role in prolonged cold stress.

Effects of high temperature on water quality, growth performance, enzyme activity and the gut bacterial community of shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei)

Zaher A. Al-Masqari et al.

Summary: Gut bacterial communities play a crucial role in the growth and health of shrimp, but are vulnerable to pressures such as high temperatures. This study found that increasing temperature significantly decreased the survival rate of shrimp, but improved their growth performances and phosphatase enzyme activities. Temperature changes mainly affected the compositions of the bacterial community, increasing the susceptibility of shrimp to pathogenic bacterial species and leading to a low survival rate.

Effects of Thermal Stress on the Gut Microbiome of Juvenile Milkfish (Chanos chanos)

Christiane Hassenruck et al.

Summary: The study found that temperature is a key factor influencing the gut microbiome composition of milkfish, with the structure of the gut microbiome being related to the host's energy status. From the experimental results, it can be seen that milkfish gradually adapt to higher temperatures under thermal stress, and the changes in the microbiome may serve as an adaptation mechanism.
