DDX39B contributes to the proliferation of colorectal cancer through direct binding to CDK6/CCND1

Haonan Zhang et al.

Summary: DDX39B has been found to play a pivotal role in the proliferation of human colorectal cancer cells by promoting the cell cycle transition and upregulating the expression of CDK6/CCND1, suggesting it could be a potential therapeutic target.

Increased expression of MCM4 is associated with poor prognosis in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma

Ruinian Zheng et al.

Summary: In liver cancer tissues, the levels of MCM4 messenger RNA and protein were significantly higher compared to normal liver tissues. Kaplan-Meier analysis revealed that upregulation of MCM4 was significantly associated with poorer survival in HCC patients.

Xiaohui Wu et al.

Summary: This study revealed that elevated POLE expression is significantly associated with poor survival and an immune-suppressive tumor microenvironment in ccRCC, indicating that POLE can serve as a biomarker for guiding molecular diagnosis and facilitating the development of novel individual therapeutic strategies for patients with advanced ccRCC.

Up-regulated RFC2 predicts unfavorable progression in hepatocellular carcinoma

Zaixiong Ji et al.

Summary: RFC2 is overexpressed in liver cancer patients and is significantly related to the clinical stage and tumor grade of HCC, with higher RFC2 expression associated with shorter overall survival and disease-free survival. The function of RFC2 in liver cancer is DNA replication, with the main mechanism being the cell cycle phase transition. Biological experiments demonstrate that knockdown of RFC2 reduces HCC cell proliferation and migration, indicating that RFC2 might promote liver cancer development by regulating the cell cycle and DNA replication, and could serve as a novel biomarker for liver cancer prognosis.

The Evolving Role of Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors in Hepatocellular Carcinoma Treatment

Patrizia Leone et al.

Summary: Hepatocellular carcinoma is a common and deadly cancer around the world. Traditional treatments like surgery, radiotherapy, and targeted therapies have been used, but due to the immune suppressive nature of HCC, immunotherapy with immune checkpoint inhibitors has shown great promise in recent clinical studies.
