Summary: The novel sulfonated carbon-coated magnetic nanoparticles were designed and synthesized as efficient nanocatalysts for green synthesis of coumarin derivatives. They were able to be reused multiple times and theoretical studies were conducted to gain a better understanding of the reaction mechanism.
