3D cellulose fiber networks modified by PEDOT:PSS/graphene nanoplatelets for thermoelectric applications

Saeed Mardi et al.

Summary: Paper-based organic thermoelectric materials were developed using PEDOT:PSS, GNPs, and a starch-based biopolymer. The addition of an ionic liquid to the PEDOT:PSS solution further enhanced the material's properties, while the incorporation of GNPs improved the Seebeck coefficient. Additionally, these composites exhibited excellent flexibility and environmental stability.

The role of absorbed water in ionic liquid cellulosic electrolytes for ionic thermoelectrics

D. Zhao et al.

Summary: Research has found that the absorbed water from the atmosphere can significantly impact the ionic thermoelectric properties, increasing the ionic Seebeck coefficient. The water concentration difference generated hydrovoltaic voltage is identified as the main reason for enhancing the apparent ionic Seebeck coefficient. The combination of ionic Seebeck voltage and hydrovoltaic voltage can be used to harvest electricity from intermittent temperature gradients.

The Interfacial Effect on the Open Circuit Voltage of Ionic Thermoelectric Devices with Conducting Polymer Electrodes

Saeed Mardi et al.

Summary: Research has found that the composition of different PEDOT electrodes significantly affects the thermo-induced voltage coefficient of iTE devices. The polymer in the electrode causes ion concentration differences at the electrode/electrolyte interface, contributing to a temperature-dependent interfacial potential drop.
