Production technology and applications of honeycomb films

Hidekazu Yamazaki et al.

Summary: The production equipment for large-area honeycomb films was designed and optimized to form honeycomb films using the breath figure formation process under high humidity environment. By changing key process parameters, such as surface temperature of polymer solutions and interfacial tension between water and the polymer solution, large-area honeycomb films were successfully produced by roll-to-roll process. This has paved the way for new applications of honeycomb films in the biomedical field.
