Airborne Cupressaceae Pollen and Its Major Allergen, Cup a 1, in Urban Green Areas of Southern Iberian Peninsula

Concepcion De Linares et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between Cupressaceae pollen and the major allergen Cup a 1, showing a significant positive correlation between Cupressaceae pollen and Cup a 1 during the period of peak concentrations. Additionally, the results indicated that the exposure period of aeroallergens depends on the species of Cupressus and their abundance in cities.

Monitoring techniques for pollen allergy risk assessment

Chiara Suanno et al.

Summary: Understanding the trends of airborne pollen allergens is crucial due to the high prevalence and socioeconomic impact of pollen-related respiratory diseases globally. Developing efficient monitoring systems and reliable allergic risk indices are essential to assess the health hazards posed by urban vegetation and atmospheric pollen concentrations to allergic individuals.
