Quasinormal modes of black holes with multiple photon spheres

Guangzhou Guo et al.

Summary: This paper studies the quasinormal modes of the scalar field associated with circular null geodesics in hairy black hole spacetime, finding that the imaginary part of the modes related to unstable circular null geodesics encodes the information about the Lyapunov exponent of the corresponding geodesics.

Circular motion of charged particles near a charged black hole

Yu-Qi Lei et al.

Summary: We studied the circular motion of charged particles near charged black holes and obtained the general form of the Lyapunov exponent using the Jacobian matrix. The results showed that the chaos bound can be saturated by the circular motion of charged particles on the horizon. By exploring Reissner-Nordstrom black holes with different mass-charge ratios, we found that circular motion with angular momentum can have a larger Lyapunov exponent compared to static equilibrium. We also extended our study to Reissner-Nordstrom Anti-de Sitter black holes and observed that circular motion with large angular momentum could exceed the chaos bound under specific conditions.

Chaotic dynamics of string around the conformal black hole

Da-Zhu Ma et al.

Summary: In this paper, a systematic and in-depth study on the chaotic dynamics of the string around the conformal black hole is conducted. The transition in chaotic dynamics when the black hole horizon disappears is observed and it provides a possible way to probe the horizon structure of massive bodies. The application of the generalized MSS inequality in asymptotically flat black hole backgrounds is also examined.

Bound on the Lyapunov exponent in Kerr-Newman black holes via a charged particle

Naoto Kan et al.

Summary: We investigate the conjecture on the upper bound of the Lyapunov exponent for the chaotic motion of a charged particle around a Kerr-Newman black hole. Through considering the angular momenta, we find that the Lyapunov exponent can exceed the conjectured upper bound, and the location of the maximum is related to the value of the Lyapunov exponent and the extremal and nonextremal states of the black hole.

Minimal length effects on motion of a particle in Rindler space

Xiaobo Guo et al.

Summary: The study shows that the minimal measurable length has effects on the motion of particles near black holes, leading to stronger chaotic behavior. In the presence of minimal length effects, the scrambling time of black holes may be shorter and some Lyapunov characteristic exponents could exceed the surface gravity of the horizon.

Phase transition and quasinormal modes for charged black holes in 4D Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity

Ming Zhang et al.

Summary: In four-dimensional Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity, the study focuses on the thermodynamic properties and phase transitions of (charged) AdS black holes. Different critical points and phase transitions are observed for negative and positive Gauss-Bonnet coefficients, with the quasinormal modes serving as a dynamic probe to detect the phase transition between small and large black holes.

Novel relations in massive gravity at Hawking-Page transition

Pavan Kumar Yerra et al.

Summary: The sign and magnitude of Ruppeiner's curvature RN for black holes in massive gravity are empirical indicators of the microstructures of a thermodynamic system, with different parameters leading to positive, negative, or zero values at the HP transition point. The behavior of microstructures is significantly altered by the graviton mass and horizon topology, with the presence of weak repulsive interactions in the large black hole branch at small pressures and a universal constant value at zero temperature when the HP transition happens. The analysis of general black holes in AdS close to the HP transition point reveals the presence of fully decoupled Rindler spacetimes.

Overcounting of interior excitations: a resolution to the bags of gold paradox in AdS

Joydeep Chakravarty

Summary: This work investigates how single-sided and eternal black holes can contain a vast number of semiclassical excitations in their interior, proposing a new solution to resolve the paradox in entropy. By describing the interior of black holes in Hilbert space, the resolution of the paradox arising from the orthogonal relationships between these excitations is provided.
