A simple Galerkin meshless method, the Fragile Points method using point stiffness matrices, for2Dlinear elastic problems in complex domains with crack and rupture propagation

Tian Yang et al.

Summary: The Fragile Points method is a simple Galerkin meshless method that uses only point-based trial and test functions, suitable for simulating deformations of complex structures and crack propagation. The method has advantages in simulating complex fracture phenomena and demonstrates accuracy and efficiency in stress analysis.

A dual adaptive explicit time integration algorithm for efficiently solving the cardiac monodomain equation

Konstantinos A. Mountris et al.

Summary: The study proposes a fully explicit method for decoupling the reaction and diffusion terms in the monodomain model. Compared to semi-implicit methods, this approach offers lower memory footprint and higher scalability, albeit with conditional stability. The conditional stability limitation is overcome by introducing a dual adaptive explicit method which applies adaptive time integration for both the reaction and diffusion terms.

Location of Parasympathetic Innervation Regions From Electrograms to Guide Atrial Fibrillation Ablation Therapy: An in silico Modeling Study

Chiara Celotto et al.

Summary: This study aimed to develop a method to locate atrial parasympathetic innervation sites based on measurements from a grid of electrograms (EGMs). The results showed that the amplitude of the atrial EGM repolarization wave was representative of the presence or absence of ACh release sites, with larger positive amplitudes indicating the electrode was over an ACh region. The algorithm performed better in the absence of fibrosis or when fibrosis was uniformly diffuse, demonstrating feasibility in locating atrial parasympathetic innervation sites.
