Alterations of CD163 expression in the complications of diabetes: A systematic review

Broad antiviral peptides against PRRSV based on novel linear epitopes on porcine CD163

Summary: Novel antiviral peptides derived from pCD163 were developed, which showed inhibitory effects on PRRSV of different lineages and modulated the NF-kappa B pathway. These findings deepen the understanding of the interaction between PRRSV and pCD163 receptor, and provide alternative universal antiviral strategies against PRRSV.

Summary: This study identified the critical regions within the SRCR5 domain that are responsible for PRRSV infection by introducing different mutants. The results showed that there are differences in the recognition of CD163 between PRRSV-1 and PRRSV-2, but all mutations affecting infection are localized to a similar region on the same face of SRCR5.

Dexamethasone enhances CD163 expression in porcine IPKM immortalized macrophages

Summary: This study demonstrates that the glucocorticoid dexamethasone (DEX) can significantly enhance the expression of the CD163 receptor in IPKM cells, and this process involves the p38 MAPK signaling pathway. However, the enhanced CD163 expression induced by DEX alone is not sufficient to facilitate the infection of IPKM by PRRSV.

Unveiling the long non-coding RNA profile of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus-infected porcine alveolar macrophages

Summary: This study identified a total of 350 annotated lncRNAs and 1792 novel lncRNAs in PAMs through RNA-seq analysis, with 86 differentially expressed lncRNAs and 406 DE protein-coding mRNAs identified upon PRRSV incubation. GO category and KEGG pathway enrichment analyses revealed that these DE lncRNAs and mRNAs were mainly involved in inflammation- and pathogen infection-induced pathways. The co-expression analysis demonstrated that several lncRNAs are positively correlated with their predicted target genes, suggesting that porcine lncRNAs play a role in regulating immune responses against PRRSV infection.
