Estimation of root zone soil moisture from ground and remotely sensed soil information with multisensor data fusion and automated machine learning

Summary: This study aimed to develop a new approach for estimating root zone soil moisture by fusing high spatial resolution optical reflectance UAS observations with soil information on an AutoML platform. Results showed that integrating physical and hydraulic soil properties with UAS optical observations improved soil moisture estimation, especially for the root zone.
