Clinical Outcome and Comparison of Regenerative and Apexification Intervention in Young Immature Necrotic Teeth-A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Pratima Panda et al.

Summary: This systematic review evaluated the clinical outcome of regenerative endodontic therapy (RET) and apexification procedure for treating young, immature teeth. The study found that MTA apexification procedure was more successful than calcium hydroxide. In RET, both apical platelet concentrates (APCs) and blood clots (BC) had similar apical closure and overall success rates. However, RET should be preferred in cases where root development is severely deficient and the tooth's prognosis is hopeless.

Evaluation of local hemostatic efficacy after dental extractions in patients taking antiplatelet drugs: a randomized clinical trial

Ylenia Brancaccio et al.

Summary: Both A-PRF+ and L-PRF showed reduced bleeding risk compared to suture alone (OR = 0.09, p = 0.001 for A-PRF+; OR = 0.09, p = 0.005 for L-PRF). Only L-PRF reduced the risk of incomplete wound healing compared to the control site (OR = 0.43, p = 0.019). Patients with hypertension (OR 3.91, p = 0.015) and diabetes (OR 3.24, p = 0.026) had the highest bleeding risk, while smoking (OR 4.30, p = 0.016) and diabetes (OR 3.79, p = 0.007) impacted the healing process. Overall, L-PRF and A-PRF represent effective alternatives to traditional hemostatics for reducing bleeding and promoting wound healing.

Global research interest regarding silver diamine fluoride in dentistry: A bibliometric analysis

Chloe Meng Jiang et al.

Summary: Global research interest in silver diamine fluoride (SDF) in dentistry has increased significantly in recent years, mainly focused on dental caries. The three main types of research are laboratory/animal studies, review/guidelines, and clinical trials, with the citation count being significantly different among them. The popularity of SDF as indicated by Google Trends has also seen a significant increase.

Xenograft materials in maxillary sinus floor elevation surgery: a systematic review with network meta-analyses

J. V. D. S. Canellas et al.

Summary: This systematic review and network meta-analysis compared different commercially available xenograft materials used in maxillary sinus floor elevation surgery. Osteoplant Osteoxenon was found to produce the most newly-formed bone and be absorbed faster than other materials after six months. The combination of Bio-Oss with bone marrow aspirate concentrate significantly increased the percentage of newly-formed bone, while the addition of Emdogain and leucocyte and platelet-rich fibrin did not significantly improve bone regeneration.
