The findings showed that the intervention effectively increased social functioning and decreased suicide probability in the experimental group. Summary: The decline in suicide by insecticide poisoning in India after the ban of endosulfan in 2011 was largely offset by an increase in hanging suicides among males. Female suicide rates decreased due to declines in total female suicide rates. Prevention strategies need to focus on pesticide bans and hanging prevention policies to reduce overall suicide rates in India.
