Simulation-based roadmap for the integration of poly-silicon on oxide contacts into screen-printed crystalline silicon solar cells

Christian N. Kruse et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates the high efficiency potential of incorporating n-type poly-Si on oxide junctions (POLO) into industrial crystalline silicon solar cells. Utilizing POLO structures on p-type wafers can achieve higher efficiency, while structures based on POLO2 concepts have even greater efficiency potential. Further research on poly-Si structuring and screen-printing on p-type poly-Si is needed for these structures.

Effects of CdTe selenization on the electrical properties of the absorber for the fabrication of CdSexTe1-x/CdTe based solar cells

Elisa Artegiani et al.

Summary: By adjusting the structure of CdTe thin film solar cells and introducing CdSexTe1-x layer and a large band gap buffer layer, the absorption performance can be improved, with efficiencies exceeding 14% achieved through a high-temperature selenization process. By comparing the results of the new and old devices, the impact of the selenization process on the performance of the device is highlighted.
