Summary: This study compared the radiographic parameters and clinical outcomes of anterior interbody fusion (ALIF) and posterior interbody fusion (TLIF) for the treatment of isthmic spondylolisthesis. The results showed that ALIF generated greater segmental and regional lordosis, as well as better restoration of disc height compared to TLIF. ALIF patients also demonstrated significant improvements in a broader range of patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) domains than TLIF patients.

Safety and efficacy of stand-alone anterior lumbar interbody fusion in low-grade L5-S1 isthmic spondylolisthesis

Summary: This study evaluated the safety and efficacy of stand-alone anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF) in patients with symptomatic low-grade L5-S1 isthmic spondylolisthesis. The retrospective analysis showed that the patients improved clinically after one and two years, without intraoperative complications. A small number of patients required reoperation.
