Growth Mechanism of Periodic-Structured MoS2 by Transmission Electron Microscopy

Arvind Mukundan et al.

Summary: This study investigates the mechanism of MoS2 growth in a substrate with a periodic structure. Through controlling the precursor, growth conditions, and gas flow rate, MoS2 successfully grows in the region of the periodic holes. Various analysis methods are used to confirm the growth layers of MoS2. The growth mechanism is studied using transmission electron microscopy. The results of this research provide valuable references for the large-scale periodic growth of MoS2.

Optical and Material Characteristics of MoS2/Cu2O Sensor for Detection of Lung Cancer Cell Types in Hydroplegia

Arvind Mukundan et al.

Summary: In this study, n-type MoS2 monolayer flakes were grown using chemical vapor deposition, while a p-type Cu2O thin film was grown via electrochemical deposition. The crystal structure of the MoS2 flakes was analyzed using various techniques, and the monolayer structure was confirmed. The MoS2 flakes were then transferred onto a Cu2O film to create a p-n heterogeneous structure. The properties of the samples were examined through different measurements. The fabricated biosensor showed high sensitivity to detect lung cancer cell types, reducing the current busy procedures and waiting time for detection.

Open-Set Learning-Based Hologram Verification System Using Generative Adversarial Networks

Betul Ay

Summary: In this study, a novel deep-learning based end-to-end hologram verification system is introduced to address the hologram authenticity challenge. The system utilizes robust classifiers to determine whether a captured hologram image from a mobile application is fake or not. The system is built by training three major deep networks and it generates synthetic images using generative adversarial networks (GANs) as negative class samples. Extensive experiments show impressive accuracy for closed-set and open-set samples, demonstrating strong generalization performance of the system for unknown samples.

Evaluation of mean gray values of a cat with chronic renal failure: case report

H. H. Arslan et al.

Summary: This case report describes a 12-year-old female domestic cat with chronic renal failure, who lived nearly four years after diagnosis with the help of probiotic therapy. The study suggests that probiotics may have a positive impact post-CRF diagnosis, and that Mean Gray Value (MGV) could be a more useful tool for evaluating the extent of renal failure.

Rapid and noninvasive sensory analyses of food products by hyperspectral imaging: Recent application developments

Gozde Ozdogan et al.

Summary: Hyperspectral imaging (HSI) has emerged as a less time-consuming and non-destructive method for assessing sensory properties of food products. Studies have shown that the combination of algorithms, integration of spectral and spatial information, and application of non-linear analysis can lead to more accurate assessment results. Despite some limitations, research on real-time monitoring of sensory properties using HSI has great potential for industrial applications.
