Survival analysis for the inverse Gaussian distribution with the Gibbs sampler

Kalanka. P. Jayalath et al.

Summary: This paper presents a comprehensive survival analysis for the inverse Gaussian distribution using Bayesian and Fiducial approaches. A flexible Gibbs sampling method applicable in the presence of censoring is discussed. The results show that the shape parameter of the inverse Gaussian distribution has the most impact on the analyses, while the degree of censoring in the data has a lesser effect. Both approaches are effective in estimating IG parameters and the average remaining lifetime.

A new capability index for non-normal distributions based on linex loss function

Mahdiyeh Erfanian et al.

Summary: Capability indices are commonly used tools in process capability analysis for measuring product conformance to customer expectations. This study introduces a new loss-based capability index constructed with an asymmetric loss function for non-normal processes, allowing for customized cost consideration in capability analysis. The performance of the proposed index is evaluated through simulation results, with three real examples demonstrating its application.

On the exact distribution of the likelihood ratio test statistic for testing the homogeneity of the scale parameters of several inverse Gaussian distributions

Mahmood Kharrati-Kopaei

Summary: This study presents an exact distribution of the likelihood ratio test statistic for testing the equality of scale parameters of several independent inverse Gaussian populations. The method is based on Mellin inverse transform and Jacobi polynomial expansion, with an approximate method also proposed. The research is validated through numerical and real data examples.

Inferences on the performance index of Weibull distribution based on k-record values

A. A. Jafari et al.

Summary: This paper discusses the derivation of the lifetime performance index under Weibull distribution, proposing UMVUE, exact test, and classical confidence interval when the shape parameter is known, and generalized confidence interval and Bayesian confidence intervals when unknown. The behavior of the proposed methods is evaluated through Monte Carlo simulation, providing estimations using maximum likelihood and Bayesian approach.

Interval estimation for inverse Gaussian distribution

Xiaofei Wang et al.

Summary: This paper discusses interval estimation for the inverse Gaussian distribution, deriving generalized confidence intervals and prediction intervals. Through simulation, it is shown that the proposed intervals have higher coverage probabilities compared to traditional methods like Wald CIs and bootstrap-p CIs. Additionally, the proposed procedures are illustrated using two examples.

An adjustable inspection scheme for lot sentencing based on one-sided capability indices

Shih-Wen Liu et al.

Summary: This study addresses the issue of potentially infinite sampling times in the traditional repetitive group sampling plan by proposing an adjustable inspection scheme based on one-sided capability indices. The plan parameters are determined through an optimization model with non-linear constraints related to quality and risk requirements, and its performance is evaluated, discussed, and compared with other commonly used plans. An example is provided to illustrate the applicability of the proposed plan.
