Modulation the electronic structure of hollow structured CuO-NiCo2O4 nanosphere for enhanced catalytic activity towards methanolysis of ammonia borane

Yufa Feng et al.

Summary: In this study, a non-noble-metal based hollow CuO-NiCo2O4 nanospheres composite with high catalytic activity for hydrogen production from AB methanolysis was constructed. The synergy between CuO and NiCo2O4 was revealed to promote the catalytic activity. Mechanistic studies identified the dissociation of O-H bond in CH3OH as the rate-determining step. These findings are of great importance for the rational construction of cost-efficient catalysts for hydrogen production from AB methanolysis.

Interfacial charge transfer induced dual-active-sites of heterostructured Cu0.8Ni0.2WO4 nanoparticles in ammonia borane methanolysis for fast hydrogen production

Jinyun Liao et al.

Summary: In this study, a series of cheap CuxNi1-xWO4 catalysts were designed for ammonia borane (AB) methanolysis. Among them, heterostructured Cu0.8Ni0.2WO4 exhibited the highest turnover frequency (TOF) and maintained good catalytic activity after multiple cycles. It was found that dual active sites, Cu and Ni, played important roles in the adsorption and activation of AB and methanol, respectively, leading to the enhanced catalytic activity. This study provides guidance for the development of novel catalysts with excellent performance and low cost in AB methanolysis.

Si/SiO2/Al2O3 Supported Growth of CNT Forest for the Production of La/ZnO/CNT Photocatalyst for Hydrogen Production

Muhammad Irfan et al.

Summary: This study successfully designed and synthesized a La/ZnO/CNTs heterojunction photocatalyst, which showed high photocatalytic efficiency for hydrogen evolution. The characterization results demonstrated that the spatial separation of charge carriers and extended optical absorption towards the visible light spectrum contributed to the improved photocatalytic activity. Additionally, the optimized photocatalyst exhibited excellent cyclic stability.

Modulating the Acidic Properties of Mesoporous Mox-Ni0.8Cu0.2O Nanowires for Enhanced Catalytic Performance toward the Methanolysis of Ammonia Borane for Hydrogen Production

Yufa Feng et al.

Summary: In this study, uniform Mox-Ni0.8Cu0.2O nanowires were successfully fabricated as catalysts for ammonia borane (AB) methanolysis. The acidity of the catalysts' surface was flexibly modulated, leading to high catalytic activity. The relationship between the quantity of moderated acid sites and the activity of AB methanolysis was determined for the first time, and a plausible mechanism for the reaction was proposed.

Muhammad Irfan et al.

Summary: In this study, ZnO/Ti3C2 Schottky heterojunctions were successfully synthesized, where Ti3C2 acted as a co-catalyst for enhancing exciton transfer and photocatalytic response. The prepared ZnO/Ti3C2 composites exhibited high photocatalytic activity for hydrogen production from a water-ethanol solution under visible light illumination.
