Rapid fabrication of conductive copper patterns on glass by femtosecond Laser-Induced reduction

Mengya Cui et al.

Summary: In this work, highly conductive copper patterns are fabricated on a transparent substrate through femtosecond laser-induced reduction of copper ions. The deposition efficiency is greatly improved compared to previous works. The study investigates the effects of scanning speed, laser intensity, and effective pulse number on the composition, morphology, dimensions, and conductivity of the deposited copper, and establishes the optimal laser parameters for creating highly conductive copper.

In-situ enhanced laser absorption in aqueous transition metal salt solution enables high-quality backside wet etching of optical glass by near-infrared lasers

Jiangyou Long et al.

Summary: A laser-induced backside wet etching technique using near-infrared laser sources (N-LIBWE) has been proposed for high-quality micromachining of optical glass. The absorption coefficient of the transition metal salt solution used in N-LIBWE is much lower compared to conventional organic dye solutions. The etching rate of N-LIBWE is proven to be independent of the absorptivity of the liquid absorbent, and the formation of solid substances during laser irradiation plays a key role in enhancing laser absorption and determining the final interface status.

Robust metallic micropatterns fabricated on quartz glass surfaces by femtosecond laser-induced selective metallization

Yajun Huang et al.

Summary: In this paper, copper micropatterns were fabricated on the surface of quartz glass using femtosecond laser-induced backside dry etching (fs-LIBDE) method. These micropatterns demonstrated high bonding strength and quality, making them suitable for glass heating devices and transparent atomizing devices.

High rate fabrication of copper and copper-gold electrodes by laser-induced selective electroless plating for enzyme-free glucose sensing

Evgeniia M. Khairullina et al.

Summary: Selective Surface Activation Induced by Laser (SSAIL) method was used to fabricate metallic and bimetallic structures on glass and glass-ceramics for non-enzymatic detection of biologically essential analytes like glucose. The fabricated electrodes showed high sensitivity, wide detection range, selectivity, and long-term stability, with the most promising results seen in copper-gold electrode structures on glass-ceramics.
