Negative permittivity behavior of carbon fibre/alumina ceramic composites prepared by hot-press sintering

Yuanhui Liu et al.

Summary: This paper prepared ceramic composites with carbon fibers homogeneously dispersed in an alumina matrix using hot press sintering process, investigated the impact of carbon fiber content on the microscopic morphology, electrical conductivity, and negative permittivity behavior, and found that both conductivity and negative permittivity increased with increasing carbon fiber content.

The effect of polymer molecular weights on the electrical, rheological, and vapor sensing behavior of polycarbonate/multi-walled carbon nanotube nanocomposites

Yilong Li et al.

Summary: Conductive polymer composites based on polycarbonate/multi-walled carbon nanotubes were fabricated by melt mixing with different molecular weight polycarbonates. The composites with low viscous polycarbonate showed the lowest percolation threshold and best filler dispersion in the matrix, leading to better sensing performance towards organic vapors. This study provides insight into how filler dispersion in polycarbonates with different molecular weights affects the conductive network structure and sensing properties of the composites.

One pot synthesis and electromagnetic interference shielding behavior of reduced graphene oxide nanocomposites decorated with Ni0.5Co0.5Fe2O4 nanoparticles

Jasvir Dalal et al.

Summary: This study presents a facile method for synthesizing Ni0.5Co0.5Fe2O4 nanoparticles decorated reduced graphene oxide (RGO) nanocomposites, which exhibit enhanced shielding effectiveness and absorption performance. The findings suggest that the interface linkages and synergy between Ni0.5Co0.5Fe2O4 and RGO play a crucial role in improving the microwave absorbing properties, thereby advancing the design of lightweight microwave absorbers.

0.7Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-0.3PbTiO3 Phosphate Composites: Dielectric and Ferroelectric Properties

Artyom Plyushch et al.

Summary: The study prepared composite materials at different pressures, with 83 wt% of 0.7Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-0.3PbTiO3 distributed in phosphate-bonded ceramics, and found a non-monotonic relationship between sample density and pressure. The fabricated composites exhibited a homogeneous distribution of the ferroelectric perovskite phase, thermal stability up to 900 K, formation of pyrochlore cubic phase at higher temperatures, increased dielectric permittivity and losses with sample density, as well as diffused ferroelectric-paraelectric transition and prominent piezoelectric properties.
