Interfacial properties of 2D WS2 on SiO2 substrate from X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and first-principles calculations

Changjie Zhou et al.

Summary: The interfacial properties of two-dimensional (2D) WS2/SiO2 films were investigated using XPS and first-principles calculations. Experimental and theoretical results showed consistent band offsets and weak interaction between the layers, providing evidence for the sufficient energy-band alignment and weak interaction in 2D WS2/SiO2 heterostructures.

Mechanical properties of lateral transition metal dichalcogenide heterostructures

Sadegh Imani Yengejeh et al.

Summary: In this study, mechanical characteristics of 1H, 1T' and 1H/1T' heterostructure phases of different TMD monolayers were compared using density functional theory (DFT) calculations. The impact of lateral heterostructures on TMD monolayers' mechanical strength was found to be relatively weak. There exists a significant correlation between the mechanical properties of TMD monolayers and their structural phases, providing a novel strategy to manipulate TMDs' mechanical characteristics.

Selective Doping in Silicon Carbide Power Devices

Fabrizio Roccaforte et al.

Summary: Silicon carbide (SiC) is a widely used semiconductor material for high-efficiency power electronic devices, and selective doping is a key process. Ion implantation is the method of choice for achieving selective doping in SiC, but requires high-temperature annealing. Research shows that post-implantation processes have a significant impact on the material's morphology and structure.
