Prediction of successful trial of labor after cesarean among grand-multiparous women

Gabriel Levin et al.

Summary: The study found that TOLAC among grand-multiparous women has a high success rate, and shortening the duration of ruptured membranes is a modifiable factor that may increase TOLAC success rates.

Prediction of successful preterm vaginal birth after cesarean among women who never delivered vaginally

Gabriel Levin et al.

Summary: This study aimed to determine the factors associated with a successful trial of labor after cesarean in the setting of preterm delivery of women with no prior vaginal delivery. The results showed that epidural analgesia administration was higher and preterm premature rupture of membranes rate was lower in the successful vaginal delivery group, with preterm premature rupture of membranes being the only independent factor associated with trial of labor after cesarean success.

The use of sonographic myometrial thickness measurements for the prediction of time from induction of labor to delivery

Efrat Spiegel et al.

Summary: The study found a significant correlation between myometrial fundal and posterior uterine wall thickness and the time interval to successful vaginal delivery after induction of labor. Further investigations are suggested to explore the use of sonographic myometrial thickness in predicting labor induction outcomes.

Urinary bladder injury during cesarean delivery: risk factors and the role of retrograde bladder filling

Henry H. Chill et al.

Summary: Urinary bladder adhesions, failed vacuum attempt prior to cesarean delivery, and size of uterine incision extension are independent risk factors for urinary bladder injury during cesarean delivery. In 15.4% of cases where retrograde bladder filling was used following bladder repair, fluid leakage was evident.

Evaluation of factors that predict the success rate of trial of labor after the cesarean section

Yang Mi et al.

Summary: Vaginal birth after cesarean section (VBAC) is a safe choice for most women with a history of cesarean section, but may increase the risk of adverse outcomes. In this study, factors affecting VBAC were evaluated and a model for predicting the success rate of trial of labor after cesarean section (TOLAC) was established. The study found that being primiparous, having a pre-pregnancy BMI < 24 kg/m(2), a cervical score >= 5, a history of previous vaginal delivery, and neonatal birthweight < 3300 g were protective indicators for a successful TOLAC. The nomogram prediction model demonstrated medium discriminative power in predicting successful TOLAC.
