Anti-migration performance of EPDM composite improved by octadecylamine-functionalized graphene oxide

Zhehong Lu et al.

Summary: In this study, EPDM was used as the matrix and GA was applied as the nanofiller. The anti-migration behavior of EPDM under different temperatures and plasticizer environment was investigated. The results showed that the addition of 5 phr GA filler significantly improved the mechanical properties and anti-migration performance of the composite.

Effects of surfactant molecular structure on the stability of water in oil emulsion

Guangsheng Cao et al.

Summary: The study found that longer hydrophobic monoalkyl chains in surfactants were more effective, while unsaturated bonds or highly-branched alkyl chains on the hydrophobic chains reduced the emulsifying effect.

Hydrate prevention based on convection and diffusion in alternate injection wells of carbon dioxide and water

Guangsheng Cao et al.

Summary: This study investigates the prevention of frozen hydrate blocks using the alternate injection of supercritical carbon dioxide and water. It is found that hydrate inhibitors can effectively prevent hydrate formation, but their concentration and safety distance must be controlled.

Study of the bubble collapse mechanism and its influencing factors on stability under ultra-low surface tension

Bin Huang et al.

Summary: A foam stability model was established to analyze the flow rate, pressure, and gas-liquid phase distribution during the foam crushing process, with an improved evaluation method. Results showed that foam collapsing is mainly affected by energy release and high internal pressure. Liquid film velocity fluctuates before collapse, and higher surfactant concentration in liquid phase improves stability due to lower surface tension. Foam stability can be further analyzed by studying liquid phase volume fraction and bubble characteristics.

Study on the stability of emulsion based on molecular dynamics

Hongxin An et al.

Summary: This study found that emulsion stability is directly influenced by the asphaltene content in crude oil and the unstable bonds on the hydrophilic groups of nonionic surfactants. Higher asphaltene content leads to stronger emulsion stability, while more unstable bonds weaken the strength of the interfacial membrane and decrease emulsion stability.

Effect of sodium fluosilicate particles in acidification flowback fluid on emulsification stability of crude oil

Yujie Bai et al.

Summary: The addition of sodium fluosilicate particles can significantly improve the stability of emulsions in acidified flowback fluid, but also hinder electric dehydration treatment. Increasing the experimental temperature can enhance the effect of electric dehydration for crude oil samples with high gum and asphaltene contents.
