Single-shot multiwavelength digital holography using Bragg diffraction of light by several ultrasound waves [Invited]

Olga Polschikova et al.

Summary: We present a wavelength-multiplexed digital holographic imaging technique that utilizes simultaneous Bragg diffraction of wideband light by ultrasound waves of different frequencies in crystalline media. This technique is easy to implement and applicable in various digital holography schemes. It allows for single-shot acquisition of multiple spectral fringe patterns using a single monochrome sensor and enables wavelength demultiplexing of the resulting interferogram.

Spatiospectral transformation of noncollimated light beams diffracted by ultrasound in birefringent crystals

Alexey Gorevoy et al.

Summary: The study investigates the spatio-spectral structure of wave phase matching in birefringent crystals, emphasizing its importance for light beam profile transformation, especially in imaging applications with a large angular aperture and wide spectral bandwidth. Experimental validation of theoretical models in paratellurite crystal is crucial for the development of acousto-optical imaging devices and laser beam shaping technologies.

Single-shot multi-spectral digital holographic imaging through acousto-optic wavelength scanning

Alexander Machikhin et al.

Summary: The article presents a multi-spectral holographic imaging technique for optically transparent objects used in biomedical studies and industrial inspection, which uses an acousto-optic tunable filter (AOTF) with a broadband light source for fast and efficient spectral selection. The effectiveness of AOTF-based setup in different modes is demonstrated through quantitative phase imaging of red blood cells smear specimens.

On inherent spatio-spectral image distortion in AOTF-based imagers

Grigoriy N. Martynov et al.

Summary: Acousto-optical tunable filters (AOTFs) are widely used in imaging spectroscopy applications due to their random spectral access, narrow controllable bandwidth, compactness, ease of use, and image transmittance capability. These filters have non-uniform spatio-spectral transmission, resulting in variations of central wavelength with incident light angle, which can be described by the dependencies of ultrasound frequency on incident light angle or wavelength on incident angle.
