Synthesis and Mechanical Properties of Natural Fiber Reinforced Epoxy/Polyester/Polypropylene Composites: A Review

G. K. Sathishkumar et al.

Summary: Natural fibers are abundant and cost-effective resources that are easily decomposed and biodegradable. They have the potential to replace carbon fibers and conventional glass due to their biodegradability and eco-friendly characteristics. These fibers have significant chemical, mechanical, and physical properties that vary depending on the cellulose content. Other factors such as fiber age, maturity, location, and processing methods also influence their tensile strength. Overall, natural fibers play a vital role in engineering applications with their positive environmental impact and economic outlook.

Effect of Areca and Waste Nylon Fiber Hybridization on the Properties of Recycled Polypropylene Composites

Salma Siddika et al.

Summary: The research found that alkali-treated areca fiber-reinforced composites showed better mechanical properties, while untreated composites exhibited a decreasing trend in tensile strength after adding 10% fiber. Young's modulus, flexural strength, flexural modulus, and hardness values of the composites increased with the increase in fiber loading. Among the fiber-reinforced composites, only the tensile strength value was higher at higher fiber ratios, while all other properties peaked in the composite with the highest waste nylon fiber reinforcement.

Characterization of Bamboo - Polypropylene Composites: Effect of Coupling Agent

S. Madhavi et al.

Summary: Bamboo fibre reinforced polypropylene composites with different bamboo fibre loading levels were prepared and characterized for their thermal and mechanical properties. The study found that 50% fibre content significantly increased the mechanical strength of the material. Additionally, SEM observations and thermogravimetric analysis showed that the coupling agent MAPP effectively enhanced the interfacial adhesion between wood fibre and PP matrix.
