Enhanced serodiagnostic potential of a fusion molecule consisting of Rv1793, Rv2628 and a truncated Rv2608 of Mycobacterium tuberculosis

Sadaf Sulman et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated that the fusion protein TriFu64 increased the sensitivity of TB serodiagnosis and was particularly effective in detecting sputum and culture negative patients. By combining Mtb antigens into fusion proteins, a broad sensitivity across different disease types, gender and age groups in a Pakistani population was achieved.

Serodiagnostic evaluation of fusion proteins from multiple antigens of Mycobacterium tuberculosis for active TB

Shaista Arif et al.

Summary: Tuberculosis remains a global health problem, especially in developing countries. This study focused on developing fusion molecules involving multiple M. tuberculosis antigens to enhance the sensitivity of serodiagnostic assays. By analyzing plasma samples from pulmonary TB patients, it was found that fusion proteins showed higher sensitivity compared to individual antigens, with HspX-EspC-CFP7-PPE57 being the most promising for further development.
