Application of the Chebyshev-Ritz route in determination of the dynamic instability region boundary for rotating nanocomposite beams reinforced with graphene platelet subjected to a temperature increment

Nan Yang et al.

Summary: This study utilizes the Chebyshev-Ritz method to examine the principal parametric resonance instability boundary of a rotating nanocomposite beam subjected to a temperature rising. The study finds that increasing the weight fraction of graphene platelets and the design value of the damping ratio can enhance the critical excitation amplitude.

Nonlinear dynamic analysis of thermally deformed beams subjected to uniform loading resting on nonlinear viscoelastic foundation

Yang Wang et al.

Summary: The dynamic behavior of shear deformation beams under high-speed thermal and mechanical loadings is examined in this article. The theoretical equations of the structure are derived using the first-order shear deformation theory and nonlinear strain-displacement relationships. Two different time stages of loading are considered, and the effects of fast surface heating and consistent pressure over time are explored. The study also investigates the influence of mechanical loading on heat-induced displacements and snap-through in the structure.

Electromechanical energy absorption, resonance frequency, and low-velocity impact analysis of the piezoelectric doubly curved system

Yuan Guo et al.

Summary: This research investigates the electrically performance, vibration/resonance characteristics, low-velocity impact, and absorbed energy of piezoelectric doubly curved panel on a viscoelastic substrate. Various factors such as applied voltage, elastic parameter, circumferential wave number, and impactor velocity were analyzed to determine the influence on the structure's performance. The study concluded that a curvature ratio of more than 3.8 is necessary for stability, and an increase in impactor velocity leads to improved absorbed energy in the panel.

Non-polynomial framework for bending responses of the multi-scale hybrid laminated nanocomposite reinforced circular/annular plate

Xiao He et al.

Summary: This study investigates the bending responses of three-phase multi-scale hybrid laminated nanocomposites reinforced circular/annular plates based on the three-dimensional theory of elasticity under various boundary conditions. The state-space based differential quadrature method is used to examine the bending behavior of the plates, revealing that sinusoidal load is the best pressure for improving the deformation resistance and stress of the nanocomposite plates. Numerical results show the effects of symmetric cross-ply laminated layers, types of sandwich plates, and pressure on the bending characteristics.
