Study of buckling behavior for 7A04-T6 aluminum alloy rectangular hollow columns

Yaowei Hu et al.

Summary: Eccentric load tests were conducted on aluminum alloy columns with square and rectangular hollow sections made from 7A04-T6 aluminum alloy. The study found that most current design provisions and methods presented conservative predictions of ultimate strength for 7A04-T6 aluminum alloy columns under combined loading. A formula based on the Chinese code was proposed, with modified parameters, to more accurately predict the ultimate strength of these columns.

Experimental Study and Finite Element Analysis of Initial Imperfection on 7A04-T6 Aluminum Alloy Circular Hollow Section Column

Hui Xu et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of initial imperfections on the axial compression of 7A04-T6 aluminum alloy columns through a combination of experiments and finite element analyses. The developed FE models were accurate in predicting the ultimate strengths and buckling behaviors of the tested columns.

Full-Range Stress-Strain Curves for Aluminum Alloys

Xiang Yun et al.

Summary: Aluminum alloys are increasingly used in construction due to their mechanical properties, and a two-stage Ramberg-Osgood model has been proposed to accurately describe their stress-strain behavior, validated with a comprehensive dataset of over 700 stress-strain curves from 56 sources. The developed model offers more accurate predictions and is suitable for analytical modeling, numerical simulation, and advanced design of aluminum alloy structures.
