A comprehensive comparative study on methylene blue removal from aqueous solution using biochars produced from rapeseed, whitewood, and seaweed via different thermal conversion technologies

Fatih Guelec et al.

Summary: This study provides a comprehensive comparative analysis of the potential of using biochars from different UK-sourced biomass feedstocks to adsorb methylene blue dye. The results show that seaweed-based biochars have a higher adsorption capacity, while whitewood-based biochars have relatively lower adsorption levels. Kinetic models and adsorption isotherms suggest that seaweed-based biochars may offer a thermodynamically favorable process for removing methylene blue.

Immobilization of cellulose extracted from Robinia Pseudoacacia seed fibers onto chitosan: Chemical characterization and study of methylene blue removal

Youssef O. Al-Ghamdi

Summary: This study developed an adsorbent based on cellulose-chitosan composite beads for the removal of methylene blue dye from water. The experimental results showed that the cellulose-chitosan beads exhibited higher adsorption capacity compared to chitosan beads, indicating a promising approach for eliminating cationic dyes.
