Highly Efficient and Selective N-Formylation of Amines with CO2 and H2 Catalyzed by Porous Organometallic Polymers

Yajing Shen et al.

Summary: The research demonstrates that porous organometallic polymers can serve as highly efficient and recyclable catalysts for transforming CO2 into fine chemicals. The specific surface area, iridium content, and CO2 adsorption capability play vital roles in achieving excellent selectivity and yields. Density functional theory calculations revealed a new catalytic mechanism that contributed to achieving record turnover numbers for the synthesis of N,N-dimethylformamide.

Core-Modified Coelenterazine Luciferin Analogues: Synthesis and Chemiluminescence Properties

Glwadys Gagnot et al.

Summary: This work focuses on the design and synthesis of luciferin analogues related to blue-hued coelenterazine, aiming to produce photons possibly at different wavelengths. Despite the presence of substituents found in actual substrates, no bioluminescence was observed with these compounds, however, they produced light signals through chemiluminescence in a phosphate buffer. The addition of a quaternary ammonium salt in the buffer increased the light signal intensity, contributing to the determination of emission spectra of these luciferin analogues.

Chromium-catalysed efficient N-formylation of amines with a recyclable polyoxometalate-supported green catalyst

Demin Dan et al.

Summary: This research presents a simple and efficient protocol for the formylation of amines using a polyoxometalate-based chromium catalyst, demonstrating excellent activity and chemo-selectivity for primary amines and diamines. The chromium catalyst is potentially non-toxic, environmentally friendly, and safer than commonly used high valence chromium catalysts like CrO3 and K2Cr2O7, with the ability to be recycled multiple times without significant loss of activity. Additionally, a plausible mechanism is proposed based on intermediate observation and control experiments.
