Summary: Aberrant DNA methylation profiles have been linked to various cardiovascular diseases, with few studies focusing on stroke recurrence. This study identified methylation loci associated with recurrent cerebro- and cardiovascular events, revealing significant loci and modules related to clinical traits and blood biomarkers. Results suggest potential epigenetic biomarkers for identifying at-risk individuals in recurrence-prone populations.
