Au-Ag bimetallic nanoparticles decorated silicon nanowires with fixed and dynamic hot spots for ultrasensitive 3D SERS sensing

Wenlong Liao et al.

Summary: The article reports a facile method to fabricate Au-Ag bimetallic nanoparticles decorated silicon nanowires as 3D SERS substrates, and investigates the effects of Au-Ag bimetallic nanoparticles size and composition ratios on SERS performance through experiments and theoretical simulations. The prepared 3D SERS substrate shows higher SERS enhancement factor and oxidation resistance ability, making it potentially suitable for ultrasensitive detection of trace analytes.

Charge-Transfer Process in Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering Based on Energy Level Locations of Rare-Earth Nd3+-Doped TiO2 Nanoparticles

Zihao Zhao et al.

Summary: The study successfully enhanced the SERS signal intensity and achieved the charge-transfer (CT) process between Nd-TiO2 nanoparticles and the probe molecule by doping neodymium. By analyzing the effect of doping on defect concentration and energy level structure of TiO2 NPs, the researchers demonstrated exponential enhancement in SERS signal with increasing Nd concentration, reaching optimum performance at 2%. Additionally, the Nd-TiO2 NPs substrate exhibited excellent performance in terms of Raman signal reproducibility, limit of detection, and enhancement factor, providing a novel approach to selective detection of probe molecules.
